More Wet Felting Class Pics

I’m still recovering from a really nasty bout of flu, so I hope you don’t mind a short post on the well being centre again. Jo and Julie both brought their pieces from the week before in. This was Jo’s:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAJulie had embelished hers with some stitching and beads:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe did some nuno sampling last week, trying out strips of fabrics here are some drying:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a slightly blurry photos of Linda’s piece:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe got finished really quickly and were chatting about shrinkage, so we quickly laid out some small pieces to felt and full into coasters. This is Linda’s during layout:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd this is Pearline’s:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe kept rubbing to shrink and firm until it was time to pack up,  and had quite a work out. I think Jo had shrunk her’s the most and it stood up without flopping over.

  1. No more bingo wings after all that rubbing then? Sorry to hear about your bout of flu – lot of it around down here too.
Both landscapes are very pretty (and the trial nuno pieces could easily pass for modern art couldn’t they?)

    1. Thanks, Lyn 🙂
Ha ha, Bingo Wings are mentioned a lot at the centre 🙂 I’m not sure everyone was convinced by the nuno samples, still lots of disappointment in things ‘not working’.

  2. Feel better soon Zed! All the student pieces are lovely. I hope they are enjoying the class and everything you’re teaching them.

  3. Hope you are feeling better soon Zed.
The landscape pieces look great, they’ve used the decorative fibres really well (I suspect you had some influence there as they don’t look like beginner pieces!)

    1. Thanks, Teri 🙂
I think it’s more of a case of just having a go, and seeing how it turns out and not being afraid!

  4. Your students are making progress! More importantly, they seem to be enjoying felting.
    Feel better soon!

    1. Thanks, Cathy 🙂
Definitely lots of enjoyment, we do raise a few eyebrows in the centre of the library!

    1. Thanks, Ann 🙂
Not fast enough, but I’m getting lots of knitting done!
