Believe it or not, it has been ten years since we started The Felting and Fiber Studio. Our first post was on November 20, 2011. Some of the original members have changed, we have added more contributors but we are still sharing our fiber art adventures. We decided to have a ten year anniversary giveaway. We really appreciate you, our loyal readers and would like to give you a chance to win some cool prizes as we celebrate ten years of fiber creativity and fun. We are offering five prizes, three mixed packs of sari silk and two winners of your choice of our current online class selection (dates in 2022).

We will have five winners. Make sure that your email address is associated with the comment. If we can’t get in touch with you, we can’t give you the giveaway prize. Only comments directly on the post will count. Comments on other social media such as Facebook will not be entered into the drawing. The drawing will be held with a random number generator on December 2 and the winners will be announced on December 3.

The sari silk pack will be made up of 10 grams of each color shown for a total of 60 grams of silk.

  1. Congratulations on ten successful years with your Felting and Fiber Studio!! The silk sari pack colours are so luscious that I would be thrilled to win one of them!! I’ve been experimenting with incorporating silk into my wool felted creations with varying degrees of success. I’m new to your site and if you ever offer a class showing how to use resists to make 3 dimensional felted sculptures I would enjoy taking a course like that.

  2. Congratulations on the anniversary! I love reading your posts and have learned so much. I would pick the Nuno felt with Paper Fabric Lamination class.

  3. Congratulations on ten years of such a valuable resource. I love reading about all your beautiful work.
I would so love to be able to experiment with all those gorgeous coloured sari silks.
    Here’s to another ten years!
    Thank you.

  4. I would love to take the Concertina Hat class with Terry but my skills are rudimentary. If she thought it better that I take the Felted Bag class, I would feel very lucky indeed!

  5. I would like to take the Concertina Hat class with Terry but I don’t have a lot of experience so would be pleased with the Felted Bag class. I am anonymous above because I hit the wrong button and published my answer before filling out the information.

  6. Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration over the years.
I would love the sari silk to use.
    Thank you x

  7. Congratulations on your 10 years of inspiration for many of us. I started felting about 10 years ago in New Zealand, and did not stop since . So many possibilities, I love it. Thank you for your inspiration. The silk would be my choice. Lydie

  8. First of all, thank you for continuing with your fascinating posts and keeping us all on our toes. But oh goodness what a difficult choice! I’ll have to go with Helen Dooley’s felting spirals, though, as I originally suggested to her that she run the course when someone was asking how to do this! So – thank you Helen for following through regardless of health issues, and now my broken wrist has healed, I’ll be up for learning your technique!

  9. Thank you for all your postings and congratulations on 10 years well done.I would choose the felted bag class.

  10. That’s another rabbit hole you’ve opened. I’ve just read your very first post and am trying to resist reading them all – wish I’d thought of it during lockdown(s)!
Although the silk makes my mouth water, I know that I’m unlikely now to make the best use of it, my stash will see me out anyway. So can I go for Helen Dooley’s felting spirals course please.
    Ann

  11. Thank you for sharing your love of felting! I would love to take a wet felting handbag class! Happy Anniversary!

  12. Happy 10 year Anniversary Ruth! I’ve learned so much from your posts. I’ve seen funny posts and very informative posts as well. Thank you very much for all you’ve shared over the years.
If I won I’d like to have the Spiral workshop please.
Here’s to another 10 years of us learning from you!

  13. Congratulations on your anniversary. I have been reading posts for a long while even before I had a smart phone. There is such a wealth of info on the pro boards too. I think that’s what it’s called. If I won I would pick the concertina hat class. Wet felting is my favorite fiber art I just wish it was portable. Good luck everyone!

  14. Congratulations on 10 years! I have enjoyed reading your posts- interesting, informative, and so varied. Thank you for sharing your experiences- successes, failures, your musings and experimentations- I look forward to reading them. So many courses pique my interest, but the concertina hat course has been on my list!

  15. Congratulations on 10 years of such joy and inspiration. I would love to win the sari silk yarns. Thank you so much for filling my head with so many things I would like to create.

  16. Congratulations on your 10th anniversary. I have been enjoying your inspiration now for years. I have collected so many supplies and taken a few classes here in NC. Still have a lot to learn but I would love some of that sari Silk to create with. Thank you all for sharing your creativity and knowledge.

  17. Congratulations and thanks for the giveaway and the very interesting writings, i really appreciate receiving them. I would .be trilled to win and would choose the concertina hat course.

  18. Wow, what an amazing source of inspiration this site is. Coming out of a dark place, with a failed felting course. (On the plus side, I have a yard of pre felt….) I devour the posts on this page, and delve further into the files when I can, and would love the bag, the spiral and the Nuno felt/paper course.

    🥰🥰🥰

  20. Wow, how very generous of you and what a great Christmas gift! So difficult to choose!

  26. Happy Anniversary! That is a very generous set of prizes. I’m attracted by the silk as I love silk. But it was fun to read through the list of classes too. (To be clear, I’m sticking with the silk as my answer though.) Congratulations on 10 years of felting fun.

  27. Congratulations on your anniversary. It’s hard to believe I have been following you for ten years. I would love to take the hanging spiral class some day.

  28. Ten years is a wonderful milestone and this is a great way to mark it. The sari silk is a great addition to my hand spun and I’ve used up the first bit already and would love to try some of the other varieties, so it’s the sari silk for me. Best of luck to everyone.

  29. WOW! 10 years is quite an accomplishment! I loved Terri’s Concertina Hat class. I learned so much from it and have been making hats ever since I took it. I would love to try my hand at the print with thickened dye class.

  30. Congratulations on supplying all of us with so much knowledge and materials over these 10 years. I am so excited to try the Christmas Tree you so generously showed us how to do! If I should choose a prize it would be the hat/ bag tutorial.

  31. Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary! I enjoy reading all posts and have learned a great deal since I started following the studio. It is a tough decision as to which prize would be best – the classes and the silk are all so tempting. If I had to choose just one, I would pick the sari silk as the colours are so eye catching!

  32. 10 years is an amazing milestone to have reached, congratulations, if I’m lucky enough to be one of the winners I would love to do Helene’s felted spiral course

If chosen I would love to take the felt bag making course.

  43. Love the idea of the yurts. I live in Ontario so it is unlikely that I will ever see them or do a workshop in them, or overnight in one. Hope your organization thrives with the new model. If my name is selected, I would like to receive the sari silk. Hope everyone is safe and dry.

  44. It is no small accomplishment to succeed for ten years in a niche market. But your variety and attention to quality in product and classes made this possible. I can only imagine all the hours of hard work – but it sure won you many fans including a newcomer like me. Congratulations.
I would be happy with any of the prizes (who wouldn’t) but the class on Experimental Screen Printing on Felt – really pulls at me.
I wish you many more happy years in this endeavour – for you and for your customers. Happy holidays toy our team.

  45. Congratulations! I would love to take the hat course! My kids always tease me that everything I make is a “hat” even if it is a bowl or a necklace 🤣. I’ve never actually made a hat so the course would be a great start.

  53. Congratulations on your anniversary. Over the years your blog has given me tips, techniques, food for thought and inspiration. It is the first feed I open in my email list- why? Because it is always positive and makes me feel happy!
If I win I’d love to do the Nuno felting with paper lamination course as this seems to be the next progression in my felt journey.

  54. Happy 10th Anniversary! I’m so glad I found this wonderful community of fiber friends. I’m honored to be an upcoming contributor (December 13th) too. I would love to win a class, and would probably use it towards Teri’s felted purse class. The Felted Concertina Hat class was so much fun.
