Lots of Felting on the Go

Lots of Felting on the Go

I’ve been very busy since my last post but I do not have a lot done.

I did teach a hat making class and I will have more about that in another post

I started a new bubble hat…..not finished

I started a pill box hat…..not finished

I started a yarn bag…..not finished

And lastly not finished is my postcard to send for the Christmas exchange on the forum. I cant show you that until it is sent and received.

I broke down and pretended I was Zed and did a sample. I almost never do samples but I have a long dress worth of beaded and sequined shear fabric.  I wanted to know how it would work as nuno felt and thought why not see how it works on different colours while I am at it.

beaded sample

The white migrated through more than the black. The white coved many of the beads. The black didn’t do that. Normally I would shave a piece if I had the migrating wool hiding something but I can’t do that  here because it would damage the sequins and maybe the beads too.

The other thing I finished today was these flower pins. They are not very exiting but look great on the side of a hat.

I thought I would share some pictures of what I woke up to this morning.

Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow to put your name in for our second Birthday Giveaway.

This week on the farm

This week on the farm

Sorry for the late post everyone, It will probably show up as tomorrow for those in the UK. I have been busy with more mitts and getting ready for a sale tomorrow.

The other thing I made this week was some felted soap. This the soap all wrapped up in nylons ready to go. I sit in front of the TV with a bucket to do these.

This week we had some surprises. First the snow flurries seems more like a dump. This is the entrance to the building my studio is in.

And on the same day we had unexpected triplets. Here is the coldest one getting warmed up by my daughter.

And to top it off Mom had no milk so in came her brothers.

It was snowing hard today again. But we do not want to be all doom and gloom it makes for some very pretty scenes. This is out my front door tonight.

outside tonight

If you where here yesterday there where no pictures because of a snow storm making for a bad internet connecting.  This morning it has stopped snowing for a while in favour of freezing rain but it does mean a better internet connection so I guess that’s the silver lining in the clouds. Wish me luck as I drive to my show this morning.

My Project for the 4th Quarter Felting Challenge

My Project for the 4th Quarter Felting Challenge

I decided not to wait until the last min to do my challenge piece this time.  The forth quarter challenge is weather. http://feltingandfiberstudio.com/2012/10/25/weather-challenge/ This piece I did on a piece of black silk chiffon. It’ s meant to be framed. I was going to use this for my exchange gift but then thought It wouldn’t be fair so send something they then had to frame.

The picture on the right is of the snowscape and several other things rolled up. I am messy. You can see the water on the table from me wetting down and it pouring off the corner. It’s OK though I have cement floors and a center drain.

Needling on some of the snowflakes that did not stick during rolling. I think I made the little balls to tight.

The finished picture from the front and back. I like both

I have a second entry on the same theme I will show you in a few days.
