A Nuno Felt Workshop.
I’ve had 2 Nunofelt scarf workshops recently. I will tell you more about the last one. Just a small class in a local hall. It is so nice to help keep these small halls active and this one is a very active one.
The 4 ladies had a lot of fun and so did I.
The scarves were all very different. Here, they are just about to get wet.
Then everyone got to rubbing. Everything is covered with plastic. The thin painter’s kind. They are using the Starburst Tupperware lids for rubbing.
I thought I got a rolling picture, but I don’t seem to have one. So here is what they looked like finished and wet.
I got dry pictures from 3 of the ladies
I am working on being ready for our upcoming Sale and Exhibition, labelling and making soap mostly. I did 2 batches like these. I had very clean hands. I packaged my little spirals (could I call them worlygigs?), but I don’t like the packaging. So, now I am trying to think of a different way to package them. https://www.facebook.com/events/1756344002068064 https://www.ovwsg.com/sale/vendors/

It must have been relaxing to only have 4 students and it means everyone has room to spread out. The layouts are so different but all so pretty – they must have been very pleased with their work!
That’s a lot of felted soap to make – do you still have any fingerprints? 🙂
Would like to see what you devise for packing for your worlygigs.
It was relaxing having only 4. LOL I do still have fingerprints. Watching TV while doing it helps. Hubby has come up with an idea for the whirligigs that I will be trying out tomorrow.
Great workshop Ann, no wonder you said you all enjoyed it, the ladies’ scarves are great.
Your felted soaps look good. I never did finish the ones I tried to make a few years ago now. I just couldn’t get it right and gave up, now I’ve lots of soapy lumps with bits of fluff, sitting in the “what am I going to do with these” box.
Good luck with your Guild sales, the list of vendors is impressive. Can we see what the booth that you have with Jan and Carlene looks like some time (if not all the rest of them)?
Ann
They all seemed very happy and that s the best part.
The secret to soaps is to put them in something like a piece of pantyhose leg. It keeps it all together until it starts to felt.
I will try to get a picture of the booth with all of us in it.
looks like another fun workshop! You make wet felting fun (but still dangerous)!! your students made Lovely scarves.
how did the sale get so close??? i am not ready!!! i will try to get lots of photos of the sale. i feer our felting frends may have there vertual fiber hords full from all the shopping trips this year. i hope they will alow me one more?
You Bet!
Ann
You always have fun when you come even if it’s wet.
I do not know how it got so close, but it is rushing towards us very fast.
Looks like another successful class Ann. I agree with Lyn that having four students seems like a good number. Making felt covered soap is not my favorite activity so good on you for getting so many done. I hope your sale is profitable!
It’s a small group to what I am used to but we had fun. Soap isn’t my favourite thing to do either. Putting the TV on while I do it is helpful.
Thanks
Stunning, wearable art! They must be so cozy!
They did a great job didn’t they.
What soap do you buy that is that shape?
Hi I usually get Castle and Ives but there are lots of sops that are oval. If you can only find square soap try saving the edges and corners with a potato peeler for easier felting.
Such a lovely small group and all can feel they are part of a select personal tutor group. I love all the scarves, difficult to choose a favourite! Thank you Ann.
Thanks, It was nice to do a small group.
