Another group of slipper makers.
Felt slippers have proved popular this year and we added another class. Pointy toes were very popular with this group.
Here they are all diligently laying out their fibre.
And seems I don’t know how to use my camera. I know I took in progress pictures but I don’t have any. So we move to the end of the day.
and here are a few that people sent of finished slippers
It was a great class and we had a lot of fun. It is always interesting to see how different everyone’s slippers are.

Looks like a really fun day, Ann, and a lot of happy toes at the end of it. As you say, it’s interesting how different they are, and how many people like the long-toed elf boot look.
I bet your class had much laughter among its enthusiastic students. Didn’t they do well! Kudos to you.
As with many workshops – everyone receives the same instructions and yet the results are always so different.
Did you work on the inside-out principal (decoration applied directly to the resist then the main body of wool applied), or was the decoration applied at the end? Obviously your camera ate up that info with the progress pix! Looking at the elf boots again…..I think the decoration was applied at the end.
Thanks, it was a fun class. We add the embellishments after the resist is enclosed and wet down. There was much worrying about weather the embellishments would stick but they had to trust the process. Some had never felted before. I really think my camera has a mind of its own sometimes.
Lovely class set-up with plenty of room and good tables. They all look very intent on making their slippers so the good results are deserved!
Thanks, it is a good room for teaching. They were very intent. a great group.
What fun it must have been! I love those pointy-toed shoes (can they still be called slippers?)
thanks , it was fun. I really enjoy teaching. Molly put some leather soles on hers but they are indoor shoes or slippers, which ever pleases you . 😜
Looks like they worked hard and had a lot of fun. The pointy toes are really the bee’s knees 😉
I think they had a good time. The new felters were skeptical but happy with the result.
What fun. Those pointy toe slippers remind me of the winkle pickers we used to wear in the late 50s and 60s. (As Terry Wogan used to say “Oh me lost youth!”)

LOL everything old is new again 🤣
I love it how individual all the slippers are. Perfect result for your class. Feel quite jealous!
It is one of the things I enjoy about teaching, so may different creative minds.
Well done on getting those slippers made, especially the newbie felters, they’re great!
