Giveaway—Beyond Nuno PDF e-book
As a big Thank You for all the support I’ve had since I started felting and blogging, I’m giving away a copy of my new PDF e-book called Beyond Nuno. It’s all about using different fabrics in wet felting, why and how they felt the way they do, how different effects are achieved etc. I hope to show that there’s more to nuno felting than just ruffled silk scarves and that it is possible to control the outcome of nuno felting. For more details you can read the full blurb on Craftsy or my blog.
You don’t need to do anything special to enter, just leave a comment on this post. If you’d like to spread the word through your blog or facebook etc, it would be very much appreciated but it isn’t a requirement. I will randomly draw the winner 8 days from now on Monday 4th March 2013, so please check back to see if you’ve won and leave a comment on the announcement post so I can contact you with the download information.
This Giveaway is now closed, to see the winner, please click here.

Nuno felting is so much fun. Thanks for sharing.
I am new to the world of felting and this looks a wonderful book to help me with the process.
Zed, I retired after 20 years working as a Human Resource Manager. I have taken care of people and their issues for so long . Retiring two years ago I now spend the majority of my time taking care of my 90 year old mother, and two 90 year old in-laws. I have always dabbled in needlework, sewing and mixed media of various types as time permitted. Now, as a much needed creative outlet, I try to find time each week and work in my basement studio. I recently inherited wool felt scraps and roving after my Aunt passed away and decided to learn how to work with felt as a new medium. To date I made three few needle felted glasses cases and am applique Christmas table runner. I think I’m hooked on felt work. After looking through the photos on flicker, where I first saw your work, it honestly takes my breath away. Discovering this new creative outlet has been very inspiring and fills me up inside. After long tiring days spent dealing with the senior citizen issues of heart disease, macular degeneration and dementia, it’s wonderful to come home and be inspired. Thank you for inspiring me and thank you for this wonderful giveaway opportunity.
Sincerely, Nan
Aaw, thank you, Nan, that’s really nice of you 🙂
Wool and felt really are addictive and do have a way of absorbing troubles and being very relaxing and ‘stress busting’. It still amazes me that even with just a few colours of wool we can make something gorgeous in a few minutes. Ruth’s Daily Dose of Fiber challenge helped me find a way to get in some fibre time recently when I’ve been snowed under with work and stressed out, and it really helped, especially having something nice at the end of it that I could see 🙂
I hope you continue enjoying felting 🙂
I read your blog all the time. It inspires me to keep moving forward in my attempts at felting to and it is helping me develop a lot more self confidence in my projects. I marvel at the generosity of the artist on the net for their time and effort to share and build a community of creative souls.
Have just gotten ‘stuck in’ to felting and am really enjoying the freedom that this textile art allows. Thank you for your inspirations!
Thanks a lot for all the really nice comments, everyone 🙂
I would just so love to win this book – why? Being a novice i want to take my nuno felting to another level and this is the book to do. But being a student funds are in short so supply. So please help.

Hello Zed. What a nice thing for you to do! I have never attempted any nuno felting… I’m unsure of the process and to be honest, feel there just might be enough nuno-scarfs in the world. 🙂 I’m interested to see what you have done with other fabrics and what you have created beyond scarfs. Thanks so much!
~Terri
What a wonderful thing to do. I am also a Fiber Artist and would love to see more and more of your beautiful work.
Would love a chance to win! I have been felting for awhile now too.. but you can NEVER have enough knowledge. Thank you for being so generous!
I would love to have your new book. Congratulations.

This looks like a great ebook! Would love to win it :). And this would go great with my Envirobatts!
Intriguing! I love experimenting to create new textures. I’d love to win this. I just happened to come across it browsing for new ideas. Thanks for the opportunity.
Thanks, everyone 🙂
just found your blog and am inspired by a shared love of colour and fibres. I can almost reach out and ‘feel’ your pictures. I have been on a sculptural felting course (bowls) and a needle-felting one , so am really into making felt jewellery at the moment. However I would love to have a go at nuno felting as I have a stash of ivory silk chiffon left over from making my sister’s wedding dress 10 years ago and I have been looking for an opportunity to make her a beautiful ‘memory’ scarf, with fibres and patterns to echoe the season(Autumn) and patterns (corsages of Rosemary and Rose hips)from her special day. Oh – and I’m going to ‘pin’ your blue nuno ‘book cover’ onto my Pinterest page!(Uniquely Made board.)
Denise Howe (Neece’s Needles)
Thanks for the ‘pin’, Denise 🙂
Making a nuno felted scarf for your sister from the same fabric as her wedding dress sounds like a really nice idea. I hope you’ll show us when you’ve made it 🙂
Would love to try your ideas.
I am new to the world of felting…I would love to have a copy of your wonderful book as a resource!!! I will be ordering a copy soon, if I am not the winner of the give away!!!! Thank You
This sounds like a great book! Would love to win it! Nancy
Sent from my iPad
Oh Heavens! DO I NEED this book! I’ve tried, but my first efforts look like a bad case of “The Dog Ate My Homework Miss”
I’ve had a few of those! Luckily felt is easy to re-purpose 🙂
Thanks for all the comments and entries, everyone 🙂
Please remember to check back tomorrow for the results of the draw, and if you are the winner, please remember to comment on the announcement post so I don’t have to search through all the last week’s comments to find your email address!
Wow! Excited about the chance to win a copy of your book. The content is exactly what I have been wanting someone to explain. I am soooo ready to move beyond the standard nuno projects!
Hi, I was not familiar with felting wool until my 12 year old daughter saw a diy project on it. She is absolutely excited about doing a project with this. I would love to win this for her so she would have a lot more ideas on what to do with it! She is a very creative person and this would continue to help her think outside of the box with anything project!! Thank You, book_time@ yahoo.com, Judy
Thank you for your blog and guiding verbiage. I would love to win your fantastic book as I am at a crossroad in my fiber art journey as my artist in crime suddenly passed away last August from pancreatic cancer and I have not been able to get back into my art and/or felting. Your book just might give me the nudge I need to charge ahead with my art; as well as my felting.
Thank you and keep up the great work.
GiGi
So sorry to hear about your art partner, GiGi.
It is hard to get back into being creative after taking time off, isn’t it?
Have you seen Ruth’s Daily Dose of Fiber challenge for this quarter?
http://feltingandfiberstudio.com/2013/01/01/a-daily-dose-of-fiber-challenge/ I think a lot of us are going to try to continue all year not just this quarter, it really helps to drag ideas out of where they’ve been stewing, and keep them fresh for when we’re ready to work on them.
Hola Zed,
Me encanta tu blog! Tus trabajos son hermosos.
Me encantaría tener tu libro. En Argentina no es facil conseguir material sobre fieltro.
Saludos
Cecilia
