    1. I don’t know ‘exactly’, I just know it’s part of the silk reeling process, probably before the seracin is cleaned off and put on bobbins. Wikipedia says: Silk throwing is the industrial process where silk that has been reeled into skeins, is cleaned, receives a twist and is wound onto bobbins. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_throwing
