Yarn Bombing Without Knitting
I have always associated yarn bombing with knitting or crocheting. It looked like fun but since I don’t knit or crochet, I never tried it. At my felting retreat this past weekend, Jan showed us how to do a wrapped key chain and I suddenly realized that I didn’t need to know how to knit to yarn bomb.
So we found a nice tree stump by the lodge and wrapped and embellished the tree to our heart’s content. We just used a variety of yarns, roving and a few pine cones. If you haven’t tried it, you should. It was great fun.

Here’s another way…. just throw balls of yarn up into the branches over and over again! Here is a pic of my backyard called “Yarnopolis.” http://www.flickr.com/photos/summerset/7752782488/ It has survived a very rainy season and hot weather without fading and only a little sagging.
Terri – that’s a great idea. I love your tree. Ours was just a stump so it wouldn’t have worked well but a good thought for next time.
I tried really hard to concentrate on the tree but my attention was taken by the surroundings – what a fantastic place! You lucky thing.
It is a gorgeous area and we had a great time. I’ll have to post photos of the view from the lodge to the lake.
I was thinking the same as Lyn 🙂
It looks like some of our coastal areas or Scotland.
It looks like you were having fun 🙂
