Probably the most well known plant based fibres are cotton, linen, hemp and viscose. There have been many more plant based fibres available to fibre artists in recent years, with bamboo, ramie and soybean very popular, readily available and inexpensive.

      Are there inherent odors in plant based fibres? If so, are they permanent? I recently bought a couch from Ethan Allen and it smells like wet burlap when exposed to body temperature and warm temperatures and humidity.
